Many other phones from 2018 on support eSIM too. Check your phone’s settings to be sure.
How to check your phone
iPhone
Open Settings → Cellular (or Mobile Data). If you see “Add eSIM”, your iPhone supports eSIM.
Android
Open Settings → Network & internet → SIMs. If you can add or download a SIM, your phone supports eSIM.
Samsung
Open Settings → Connections → SIM manager and look for “Add eSIM”.
Any phone
On many phones, dialling *#06# shows an EID number when eSIM is supported.
Carrier-unlocked is a must
A phone locked to one network can’t use another carrier’s eSIM. If you bought your phone on a contract, ask your carrier to unlock it before you travel.
